Peter Belden is an executive leader specializing in transforming international healthcare service businesses, with a strong track record of driving innovation, expansion, and growth. He has significant experience in the acquisition and integration of international growth businesses and forming effective long-term partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers.
In his previous roles, Peter has been responsible for delivering sustained revenue and profit growth in outsourced pharmaceutical services including packaging, labelling, sourcing, and logistics. Most recently, he was President of Integrated Commercial Solutions, a market-leading pharma services, and solutions business within AmerisourceBergen (NYSE: ABC), where he had full P&L responsibility. Prior to this, Peter was Vice President and General Manager at PCI Pharma Services, where he led business integration activities. He received a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA in Strategic Management from DePaul University.
Senior Vice President of US Clinical Services
Brian Swites has over 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, specializing in global clinical supply chain management. As SVP of US Clinical Services, Brian oversees the US capabilities, strategic partnerships, and ensures overall growth and performance goals are being met.
Prior to joining CSM in 2015, which later became part of Clinigen Group, Brian held various management positions during his 13 years at Cephalon, Inc./Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries, Ltd. He received his Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
SVP/General Manager EU
Rüdiger Weber looks back on more than 25 years of experience in contract packaging and distribution of investigational medicinal products. Rüdiger is a pharmacist by training and since 1995 registered as Qualified Person (QP) at the German Health Authority. He is member of the European Qualified Person Association.
As the SVP / General Manager of Clinigen Clinical Supplies Management in Europe, Rüdiger leads the European operations.
Rüdiger joined CSM, which later became part of Clinigen Group, in 2016. His past companies include Theorem Clinical Research where he headed the Clinical Supplies department since 1997 and became General Manager for the German Theorem Clinical Research CRO unit in 2009. Prior to that Rüdiger held a similar appointment for another CRO. He received his Pharmacist's degree from Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg, Germany.
Vice President of Marketing and Sales
David Fontaine brings over 20 years of experience in business development to the Clinigen Clinical Supplies Management team. As the Vice President of Global Marketing and Sales, Fontaine leads the sales and marketing department in Europe and the US.
Prior to the acquisition of B&C Group by CSM, which later became part of Clinigen Group, David was Chief Business Development Officer at B&C Group for about two years where he helped build the business into a leading global clinical service provider with operations in the US and Europe. Before that, David spent about five years as Managing Director and co-founder of a renewable energy business company. Past roles include over eight years with GSK Vaccines where he was in charge of R&D Partnering and Licensing and four years of business development with biotech companies, Rhein Biotech, and Berna Biotech.
David is originally from Belgium and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in International Business from the ESEJ Business College (Belgium) and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Maastricht University (The Netherlands).
Vice President of Project Management
Sarah Halmrast has 20 years of experience in Project Management, the majority of that time in clinical supplies. She initially joined Clinical Supplies Management in 2000 as a Pharmacy Technician and held various roles within the company before becoming the Vice President, Global Project Management in 2018.
Sarah leads the Project Management departments in the US and the EU. Her role is critical to ensure the harmonization of practices for clients to experience the same service levels regardless of their geographical location.
Sarah has a Pharmacy Technician degree from North Dakota State College of Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Mary.
Head of Strategic Sourcing
With 11 years’ experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, Tom White has developed leading-edge expertise in comparator sourcing across various project management, sourcing, and business development roles. Amongst other accomplishments, Tom pioneered the onco-generic On-Demand clinical supply model in direct response to the growing use of chemotherapy products in the clinical supplies industry.
Tom currently leads the Strategic Sourcing team at Clinigen, which is responsible for managing and developing key supplier relationships, implementing and developing sourcing strategies, and providing market-leading comparator sourcing solutions.
Vice President of Account Management
Jean Bowtell leads the Account Management teams based in the US and Europe. Her role focuses on supporting and driving the team to deliver world-class customer service with creative innovative ideas in the comparator space while developing client relationships.
Jean joined Clinigen back in 2012, working on the comparator sourcing team managing the US accounts. She developed into the Head of the US client-facing team in 2016, and in 2018 began to manage the EU group as well, bringing harmonization across both sides of the pond. Jean’s career has always been on the service side; prior to Clinigen, working at varied CROs, in the clinical trial management space.
Jean has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology as well as Psychology from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
